When I started my organic laundry product company originally named B & N Laundry, I had only a slight grasp on how important marketing would be. It wasn’t until I was truly in the trenches of business growth that I realized my greatest ROI would come from marketing. In the beginning it was lifestyle photography, and then product photography. Later it was Google and social media ads, and then videography, press releases, and product brochures. Each component added engagement and each one increased product sales and got us closer to the greater goal of landing big box retailers and national television.
Marketing Takes a Brand and Shows the World How it can Make Their Life Better
Lifestyle photos helped tell the story, product photos got us in magazines and blogs, videos enhanced our website, moved us up in search engines and I used them to pitch to retailers, Evine Live and even Shark Tank. I couldn’t avoid any aspect of marketing if I wanted to push the company forward. I learned just how important each component was. We needed a logo that made our brand stand out, a website that had a color scheme that was a reflection of our mission and audience. It needed to be easy to navigate and make the buying experience simple.
The lifestyle and product photos had to tell the story in just the right way, and videos needed to capture the short attention span of the average consumer. The bigger we grew, the greater the need to increase our marketing and our marketing budget. That meant Google and social media ads, press releases, PR coverage. It wasn’t just that we wanted to expand our reach, it was required to land our products in specific retailers.
Marketing is in everything we do as business owners. Marketing brings brands to life when we apply graphic design, logos, color schemes, and fonts. It engages our audiences and tells our story through videos, photography, SEO, press releases, brochures, packaging copy, and blogging. Marketing moves an engaged audience to active buyers through email campaigns and social media calls to action.
That’s why Dave and I started Creative Stories Media; we wanted to create a place where companies could grow their brand at any stage. From starting off and needing a logo and website, to growth phases of needing high level videography, SEO, and copywriting, graphic and advertising. We have accomplished this by bringing in the very best creatives in the industry and giving them a space to help brands come to life and accomplish their marketing and sales goals. We love what we do because we get to watch the clients we work with grow throughout their marketing journey.
